Each room is named after well-known Australian writer:
Dorethea Mackellar, Judith Wright, Henry Lawson, and Banjo Paterson
Of all these Australian authors Banjo Paterson has a profound connection here in Tenterfield.
In the early 1900s, Banjo had fallen in love with Alice Walker from the Tenterfield Station and proposed to her at the Boonoo Boonoo Falls lookout in Boonoo Boonoo National Park.
The lookout is still renowned as a romantic location to this day. Banjo and Alice held their lavish reception at the Tenterfield Homestead, only a 2-minute drive from the Guesthouse. While residing in Tenterfield, and during return visits, Banjo was also a regular at the famous Tenterfield saddlery.
Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson Rooms
The Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson rooms offer luxury showers and firm orthopedic queen mattresses offering both comfort and support. These rooms are both regal and elegant. The Henry Lawson Room is also wheelchair accessible.
Judith Wright and Dorethea Mackellar Rooms
The Judith Wright and Dorethea Mackellar rooms offer luxurious vintage-style baths/showers and a softer orthopedic queen mattress giving a little bit more finesse and opulence to your stay.
Sheridan linen is used in all bedrooms of the Guesthouse and certified luxury organic cotton towels from EcoDownunder are offered for all guests.
Each room also offers the necessities (particularly for winter) with electric panel heaters and electric blankets.
All toiletries are sourced from the local Washpool Farm Soaperie in Ballandean and are handcrafted from premium ingredients, are not tested on animals, and are designed to cleanse and gently nourish the skin.
